Kimberly Herring

Kimberly Herring is a native Houstonian who started using oil paints at age 11 after inheriting her grandfather’s paint set and painting books when he passed away.  She then moved into pencil art and participated in art competitions throughout her youth.  Her focus turned more analytical in college, where she received degrees in Finance and Marketing with minors in Theology and Education from the University of St. Thomas.  After graduating she managed a large team, working within the insurance industry until starting a family.

Now she is a stay at home mom to four children, where her art skills have come in handier than finance the last few years.  In this time, she has rekindled the love of art where she has started chalking fence murals and fun pavement art around the Cypress and Tomball area.  She continues to experiment with anamorphic chalk, pastels, charcoal, and new types of canvases.

When Kimberly is not chalking she is spending time with her four kids, husband, and family.  She enjoys hunting, playing the piano, and eating queso.  To see more of Kimberly’s artwork, check her out on Instagram, and YouTube at @chalkonista.
